Psychology service

City and Hackney's primary care psychology service is aimed at
improving the psychological health and wellbeing of patients. We
provide a range of psychological therapies for adult (18 years or
over) residents of City and Hackney who suffer from mental health
problems, such as:
- Adjusting to negative life events
- Panic attacks
- Phobias
- Anxiety
- Depression
- Medically unexplained symptoms
- Coping with medical conditions
Sessions are offered in the form of individual, group and
self-help, using Cognitive Behavioural Therapies (CBT). CBT uses a
practical approach with patients to help them make links between
how they're feeling, how they're thinking (their cognitions) and
what they're doing (their behaviours).
Referrals
Referrals can be made by GPs. Patients are not currently able to
self-refer, however the service is working towards this being
available in the future.
Opening hours
Monday to Friday 9.00am - 5.00pm. (Limited evening slots may
be available.)
