Children and Young Person's Centre for Development and
Disability (Hackney Ark)
The Hackney Ark Children and Young People's Centre
for Development and Disability is an integrated service for
children and families, with staff working from health, education
and children’s social care all under one roof.

- Child psychotherapy and family
therapy
- Child psychiatry
- Play specialist
- Community paediatricians
- Education services for blind and visually
impaired children
- Education services for deaf and
partially-hearing children

- Parent partnership service
- Physiotherapists
- Portage team
- Speech and language therapists
- Social workers
- Children’s community nursing team
- Key workers
Services are delivered from the Ark where
there are clinic, group and family sessions; services are also
delivered in other outreach and community settings, schools and at
home.

- Joint referrals management system across
CAMHS services and within the Ark services
- Joint assessment service for children who
need to be seen by more than one professional
- Provide a team around the child service for
children seen by more than one professional
- Professional assessments and interventions
for children seeing one professional
- Provide early intervention and support to
families
Referrals
Children and young people can be referred to
the service by a parent or guardian, GP, health visitor,
paediatrician, occupational therapist, educational psychologist,
and other health care professional. They may also self refer to
this service.
Opening hours
Monday to Friday from 9.00am –
5.00pm.
