City and Hackney PCT is now part of a cluster of three primary care trusts called NHS East London and the City and the website address is www.elc.nhs.uk

Many optometrists have shops on the high street. They should be your first port of call if you are experiencing any problems with your eyes. The optometrist will carry out an eye examination to determine the cause of the symptoms and if necessary refer you to an appropriate specialist.

Many people are entitled to free NHS sight tests. To find out whether you are entitled contact your local optometrist or visit NHS UK

If you need emergency eye treatment Moorfields Eye Hospital operates a 24 hours, 7 days a week Accident & Emergency Service.
They can be contacted by telephone on 020 7566 2345 (9am – 4.30pm) or 020 7253 3411 (out of hours).

To find a local optometrist call PALS on 0207 683 4645/ 0207 683 4610. You can also call NHS Direct on 0845 4647 or visit NHS UK
